On November 2, 2012, Saddleback College Nursing Program/CNSA hosted 23 Girl Scouts for Discover Nursing Night.
Girls scouts participated in the following stations:
Beanie Baby Triage:
All the patients show up at the emergency department at the same time! How do you figure out who is most critical and should be seen first? Learn what triage means, and what assessments are used.
Life on the Wild side:
What happens when someone who is hypersensitive to bees gets stung? What if you are stung by a jellyfish in the ocean, or touch poison oak on a nature hike? Learn signs & symptoms of anaphylaxis plus other basic medical interventions.
Get a HAND-le on Germs:
How clean are your hands? Glo-Germ and see! Count the germs even after you wash them! Learn about standard precautions that help keep us safe and healthy.
