Why should you run?
Looks GREAT on a resume. Who wouldn't want to hire someone with a little Leadership experience.
Helps you learn how to be a leader, or improve your leadership skills
SC-CNSA is a fun group of individuals who like to take it a step further.
So what is the time commitment?
Time commitment depends on the position in which you occupy. Usually not more than about 4 hrs per week and that is usually only when your position has something going on.
The position is what you want to make of it.
There is always someone by your side to teach you the way and help you when you actually take office.
The position is for 1 yr. So this means you sit in the seat during your second and third semesters of school. (This semester you "shadow" the current person in the position to learn the position)
After officially taking the position each board member attends 1 board meeting a month, 1 general meeting a month, and any other events the board wishes to host above and beyond that.
**For those 2nd semester students interested you will serve one semester in your position as an active board member during your 3rd semester. You’d shadow for the remainder of this semester and during 4th semester you’d become resource for the newly elected member.
Positions Available: These positions are elect positions and are available to 1st and 2nd semester students only.

What happens if you win?
Congrats on taking the first step to being a great leader and advocate for the Saddleback Nursing program.
We ask that you attend some board meetings to watch and learn!
Have a minimum of two meetings with the current board member to go over what is expected of you as a board member and your position and to find out how they do things, and how you can be better prepared to take over.
