Saddleback College Chapter of CNSA is part of the National Student Nurses' Association or NSNA and The California Nursing Students' Association (CNSA). The CNSA is composed of over 3600 members who are committed to seeking optimal educational, developmental, and professional growth within today's various healthcare settings.
At Saddleback, we go a little further by fostering success within the nursing program as well as in the healthcare field. We do this by mentoring fellow students, hosting a welcome luncheon during each new semester's orientation, NCLEX-RN reviews, providing monthly speakers during our general meetings, and assisting our faculty with events put on by the Student Success Grant.
We are known on campus for our meetings in which we host speakers from various fields of nursing and provide a free lunch for all SC-CNSA members that attend. The speakers we invite are from all walks of nursing, such as: ER, Labor and Delivery, Intensive Care Units, Travel Nursing, and many more. There are also chances to win great prizes in our Opportunity Drawings.
We are active in community health and outreach. In the past we have collected socks and unused toiletries to be distributed to the homeless in and around Orange County. We have participated in March for Babies, OC Heart Walk, Race for the Cure, and much more. Please look at our calendar to see when our next event will take place!
We were recognized at the state level for our BTN Event "Discover Nursing Night", and we currently have (2) members, Trudy Chancellor and Lori Arotcharen, who are serving on the 2012 - 2013 CNSA State Board.
